What’s the best camera for around $1500 I've pretty much decided on the Nikon D40, but there are lens kits to choose from. For about 462$ I can get the camera with the 18-55mm lens that seems to be highly rated from what I've been reading. For about 645$ I can get a kit that has the former lens and an additional 55-200mm lens with vibration reduction which also seems to be well
Nikon 55-200 very close to Tamron 90mm but of course slower. Tamron 17-50 excellent at all focal lengths and also very good wide open. Very hard to tell any difference at 35mm between it and the Nikon 35mm. Nikon 18-105. Good at most focal lengths but does not come close to the Tamron at 18mm results wide open especially poor. Result.

r/Nikon • Exactly 9 months with my Z5 and 25k pictures taken. A few of my favorite shots. I am sure I made the right decision when choosing Nikon for my first ML camera. Reward is the awesome image quality and great experience in your hands. Z5 is the reason I will never buy a crop sensor or DSLR anymore.
